Work Party Dates

Volunteers are essential to the management of Sudbury Meadow. The rewards range from excitement when something special is seen, such as common buzzard and song thrush (on the UKBAP red list), to enjoying a good chat and having a laugh with friends.

We welcome anyone 16 or over. Younger volunteers can attend but must be accompanied by a responsible adult. For all practical activities, please wear strong leather boots and bring a pair of gardening gloves. (Gloves are available but tend to be on the large side). Refreshments are not provided, so please bring your own, particularly water on hot days. Sun block is essential during the Summer. The tasks will vary, depending on the time of year, the weather and who turns up! We sometimes retire to the Barley Mow for a well earned drink (lunches also available) so come prepared. Please note, we don't always keep to the finish times. It can be sooner or later depending on the weather.

January 4^th - Work party. Saturday, 10.00 - 12.00.

January 25^th - RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch. Saturday 9.50 - 11.00. Subject to weather. One hour of bird watching (we hope!) at Sudbury Meadow. Use Crosshall Road entrance, then meet at seat in the orchard. Warm clothing and binoculars essential. Beginners welcome. Please do NOT enter Sudbury Meadow from Regatta Meadow as this will disturb the birds.
